You set your draft order then sometime on Saturday there is an auto draft based on how you ranked your players (or if you kept the yahoo default settings). And then there is a mad dash to pick up the best free agent players. I have them all set to the waiver rules though, so it should be at least a little fair.

The only thing head-to-head brings to the table is instant satisfaction and a more micro season feel to everything. But the big problem is that it really makes the whole starting pitcher thing a bitch. I'm not sure if it is even practical to do. Plus you have one week where your god damn goalie gets sat down against the LA Kings and you lose the whole thing which is gay.Plus we don't have an even number of managers. I will reiterate my hatred for Rotisserie scoring on the grounds that by the end of the season, half the stats are so far out of reach for most teams that its a waste to even look. Even though the same issue arises in head-to-head with teams getting so far behind in games, at least there is the bragging right of beating someone that week versus... oh, I moved up one spot in the walks category.
It's the pitching thing though. In head-to-head on a week-by-week basis there is a decent chance that with only 5 pitchers you might only have one guy going vs someone with 4. Do you drop all your pitchers and pick up new ones each week based on who is available? I just don't see it being that viable to do it with baseball.
If you balance your roster with middle relievers and closers, you should get at least one pitcher everyday.
I'm not a wise baseball man, but it seems we'd have a league where starting pitchers are useless and middle relievers and closers are kings.
Nope, starters will earn you the bulk of your stats: IP, K's, outs, but they don't play as often. The other guys may play every other day, but 1 K with .2 IP per outing, it isn't going to make that much of a difference.
I'm open to convincing, but last years' league was boring as hell.

Wow. This site is dead today. Maybe I should try to find something interesting to post about. Maybe I should just go on a rant. I hate how they bring in 100 samples for me to analyze, and they don't realize that I have to run 2 or 3 separate analyses, maybe 5 or 6, depending on the sample, on each sample. Then I have to do reports. That doesn't even take into consideration the fact that a lot of samples have to be reanalyzed because of dilutions or whatever. Then there is the paperwork that has to be finished.

i'll freely admit that I think that's overstated. I'm certain that there is a contingent of UK fans that didn't want a black coach (probably a contingent at most southern universities or universities altogether), though I cannot say how large a group that was and how much say they have in who coaches. Most UK fans I know felt that Tubby, while a good coach and person, did not meet the UK standard of excellence (whether that standard is reasonable or not is another issue). And Tubby did coach for what 8 years and left on his own. So I find that view a little unsupported.

Im a UK fan. There was never a rivalry for UK/UL football, so growing up I didnt have a chance to establish a deep seeded hatred for UofL football, plus I think it might have something to do with not being able to see their faces and maybe the fact that football players aren't a bunch of whiney bitches like basketball players(and I graduated from UofL). When it comes down to UofL versus UK football, I cheer for UK, otherwise I want UofL to beat every team. Adrian, the built in data grid won't do that. You're options are to either look for a 3rd party grid component or maybe write one yourself. You might be able to use a Repeater control to get that effect. Brent, I have about 98% of the framing complete. I am guessing there will be about another 1200 square feet finished in the basement when it is all said and done. I just have to rip down a portion of a sofit (sp?) and replace it using 2x4s (the 2x2s weren't good for much actually) and that should take the bend out of that section. I have to add another sofit to combine two areas (kind of like a trey ceiling) and I have to figure out how to finish the area between the wall and the stairs...that is going to be kind of tricky because of how they finished the portion of it when the house was built. I also have the network wires and phone wires already ran in the basement, some electrical wiring is completed, but I have 2 more "zones" to wire up for that. I was going to add a 1/2 bathroom down there, but that is going to cost about $3K and honestly, I'd rather put that money into savings now, especially since Abby is due in August. From a re-sell standpoint the 1/2 bath would work wonders, but I think it will be okay. Worse comes to worse, when we sell the house, I'll knock some money off the listing price if it is going to be a deal breaker and let them use that money to build them a bathroom if they want.
Brent or anyone else- how hard is it to mud drywall and finish it to where you can paint. I might contract this out, because I don't want to fuck it up. This is critical for the appearance of your walls, as you know.
I've always heard that mudding and sanding drywall is a pain in the ass and the best thing to do is hire out some cheap foreigners. I'm not joking, a guy I worked with at Chase did his basement and had these 4 mexicans knock it out in no time at all and did a sweet job of it.
Joe is right, Michelle and I had to mud and sand her sister's new house and I vow to never do that again. When my dad redid the family room, he had someone come in and mud and sand... he said it was worth every penny. The reason is because these people usually have the specialized tools that make it a helluva lot easier and are usually not worth investing in as a do-it-yourselfer.
The only tools they have is the fucking experience. I'm in resounding agreement with everyone else: hire it out. When I gutted my bathroom, I did all the work, plumbing, electrical, tiling, drywall, duct, you name it. I think I mudded, sanded, mudded, sanded, mudded and sanded till I was blue in the face and when I thought I had a perfectly smooth transition-I painted. Come look at my bathroom, you can see a definitive crease where the sheets bevel, blows my mind, and that tiny bathroom took me days, countless hours, and billions of tiny beads of sweat, for what? Well, my first job was to prove to myself that I can do it, just in case an apocalypse or for some reason my skills as a health care professional are no longer of any use, well, I did and I'll never do it again. Besides, Im losing money by not paying someone to do it, I'll pay them and then go work and I'll be better off, screw the entitlement. Anyway, Im talking on a tangent...what I wanted to say, when I had a guy mud and sand my kitchen, he finished it in three days and probably spent less than two hours on the job with nary a dust particle leaving the kitchen all while I would go out for a run. No sand, no mess, no problem...here's your money buddy.

There are only a few Sci holidays...Blow up Saint Matthews, GBITT, and Marc's birthday where a good time is sure to ensue. The complete randomness of the night and the fact that everyone was there, mostly drunk, and a natural disaster followed just makes for an incredible story that most wouldn't believe.

Watching the Red's pregame and it is interesting because this guy Josh Hamilton is getting his first major league start. He is a former #1 draft pick and hasn't played in a couple of years. The announcers are talking about how everyone wants to see him suceced because of his past and how much of a great story it would be. He was banned from baseball for a cocaine and heroin addiction. It's odd that no one is recruiting Pettigrew. I think Louisville football told him he could walk on if he wanted to. There has to be something more with this kid. I think his major problem is he's, what, 6'5", and can't handle the basketball or shoot from distance. He certainly doesn't fit into many offenses, that's for sure, which could explain why he hasn't been offered by anyone else. I could see him doing well playing for WKU or some other conference where you can play PF at that size.I was hoping he'd come to Louisville and play football and walk on at basketball ala Joshua Tinch. He is a tweener no doubt. People say that he can't shoot the 3 or handle the rock, however, he has improved his ball handling this year, is quicker than the typical 3 and stronger than the 2 so he won't be out muscled that is for sure. He did beat Ty Proffit in a 3 point shootout at the Ohio vs. KY allstar game and scored some 26 points and grabbed close to 10 rebounds in that game that has many D1 level HS kids. I think Pettigrew shot something like 40% from 3 point land this year.
On the radio this morning, they were talking about some list that came out with the greatest sports movies of all time. Number 1 was Rock, number 2 was Karate Kid, and number 3 was Happy Gilmore. The two guys in the studio were yelling that Happy Gilmore didn't deserve to be on there, because although it is funny, it is not a great sports movie. They also brought up how the Natural, Bryan's song, and Major League should have been on there. The main guy said that a sports movie was was the only acceptable time for a guy to cry. This made me think of a conversation between Phil and Marc, about which was a better movie, The Replacements or Major League. Thoughts on any of this?And no, there was no mention of Con Air.

Gladiator isn't really a sports movie. I see it more as an action movie. There is no true form of martial art or sport. At least with Karate Kid and Best of the Best, there is a tournament that goes with the movie. I see Gladiator more along the lines of Braveheart.

Phil, I have a table with 110 columns. I am only bounding about 8 of them to a repeater control and the repeater has an image button in each row. When i click the image button, i fire off the itemcommand event. When the event gets fired, i need to pretty much access the entire datarow because i have to do some logic based on other fields not bounded to the repeater view. The manager said that she had to "Run Everything by HR" first then she can come up with a salary. There is 401k, pension, i think paid parking but not sure, excellent inusrance (go figure). All in all she really liked it, except her last boss (hence being her "last boss") and the layoffs (but that's just the world we live in-job security is a thing of the past, unless you get tenure-Ha).
